Department of
Child Safety

The Department of Child
Safety is responsible for protection of children in
Queensland. You will find the telephone number for your
local Child Safety Service Centre in the
white pages
of your local telephone directory under ‘Communities’.

Crisis Care |
Crisis
Care is the after hours service of the Department of Child Safety. You
should contact them in an emergency outside of normal business hours.
Crisis Care provides an information referral service for families and is
responsible for assessing urgent reports about harm to children.

Queensland Police Service |
The
Queensland Police Service has a number of dedicated units across the
state to investigate matters relating to children and young people.
If you want to discuss or report an
incident involving a child or young person, contact your
local Juvenile Aid Bureau (JAB). If you do not have a
local JAB, contact your local police station.
